"The son from which our line descends was Edward, who married Jane Dobbs, by whom he had two sons, Edward and Alexander, and several daughters. He too became High Sheriff of County Antrim and died in 1742, aged 83 years.

Randall Brice of Kilroot was Sheriff in 1675 (one year only). An Edward Brice of Kilroot was Sheriff in 1748 (one year only). There is a liberal sprinkling of various Dobb's over the years."

Ballymeaghan, Strandtown als. Bellymeser [Ballymisert], Knox als. Knockcolumkill, Bellydoologhan, mills, etc. of Ballyknockan, Munlogh, Crayloghgarroroby, in B. Castlereagh, Co. From The Pedigree: "Edward Brice of Belfast,the second son. He was a trustee in 1715 in the marriage settlement of his niece Anne Echlin (or Echlin). In 1718 he purchased from his nephew Randall the estate of Kilroot which was held of the Bishop of Down and Conner. In the will of his brother in law the Right Honourable Thomas Knox he is called Colonel Brice. Made his own will in April 1738 which was proved in 174_"
